Your Responsibilities
As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods while maintaining high standards of professionalism and vehicle care. Your key duties include:
Driving & Transportation
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required
- Plan or adjust routes using GPS and navigation systems to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
Vehicle Safety & Maintenance
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Inspect tires, brakes, lights, cold storage, and other vehicle equipment
- Perform brake adjustments and preventive maintenance
- Carry out emergency roadside repairs when necessary
Cargo & Record Keeping
- Load and unload goods safely
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- Oversee the overall condition of the vehicle at all times
Customer Service
- Maintain professionalism in customer service interactions
- Represent the company positively during deliveries and pickups
Skills and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, responsibility, and attention to detail
- Previous driving experience (considered an asset)
