HenderCare is currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Home and Garden Maintenance Worker to join our community-based support team. Based in Adelaide, this full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone with a passion for helping others and strong experience in general maintenance and gardening.
You will work independently across North, South, East, West and Hills regions of Adelaide, supporting aged care and disability clients in their homes to live more safely and independently. If you enjoy hands-on work and care about your local community, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Requirements
To join our team, you must:
- Hold a full Australian driver’s licence
- Have prior home and garden maintenance experience (professional or personal)
- Be passionate about working with older people and people with disabilities
- Be empathetic, adaptable, and a strong communicator
Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Home and garden maintenance worker you will be responsible for the following:
| Task | Description |
|---|---|
| Garden Maintenance | Mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, leaf blowing, and general garden upkeep |
| Cleaning & Dusting | High dusting of skylights, fans, cupboard tops, and internal/external windows |
| Home Repairs | Fixing door handles, cupboard hinges, installing lock boxes |
| Safety Installations | Installing smoke detectors, replacing light bulbs, shower heads, tap washers |
| Support Services | Providing companionship and practical support to clients in their homes |
Work Conditions
This is an on-site field role operating Monday to Friday, travelling across metropolitan Adelaide. You will work independently with client visits scheduled throughout the week. Full equipment, vehicle, and support are provided by HenderCare.
