Job Requirements
Taylor Lumber Company Ltd is looking for individuals who fulfill the following criteria
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role
- Language: English
- Licenses: AZ Class License, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), perform physically demanding tasks
Key Responsibilities
As a Truck driver you will be responsible for the following duties and tasks
Responsibility | Description |
---|---|
Emergency Roadside Repairs | Perform emergency roadside repairs during transport to ensure the safety and timely delivery of goods. |
Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance | Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition. Perform preventive maintenance and maintain detailed reports. |
Cargo Management | Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo, making sure all loads are properly secured during transit. |
Record Keeping | Keep accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, ensuring proper documentation is maintained. |
Labourer Duties | Assist with general labour tasks at the sawmill, ensuring smooth operations and supporting the overall team as needed. |
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with Trucking and Equipment: Must have experience operating flatbed trucks and tractor-trailers. Familiarity with CB radios and manual transmission vehicles is required.
- Travel: Ability to travel locally and within provincial/territorial areas as necessary.
- Security & Safety: Must pass a driving record check and a driver’s validity license check prior to employment.
