Job Requirements

Taylor Lumber Company Ltd is looking for individuals who fulfill the following criteria

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role
  • Language: English
  • Licenses: AZ Class License, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), perform physically demanding tasks

Key Responsibilities

As a Truck driver you will be responsible for the following duties and tasks

ResponsibilityDescription
Emergency Roadside RepairsPerform emergency roadside repairs during transport to ensure the safety and timely delivery of goods.
Vehicle Inspections & MaintenanceConduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition. Perform preventive maintenance and maintain detailed reports.
Cargo ManagementTarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo, making sure all loads are properly secured during transit.
Record KeepingKeep accurate records of cargo, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
Labourer DutiesAssist with general labour tasks at the sawmill, ensuring smooth operations and supporting the overall team as needed.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with Trucking and Equipment: Must have experience operating flatbed trucks and tractor-trailers. Familiarity with CB radios and manual transmission vehicles is required.
  • Travel: Ability to travel locally and within provincial/territorial areas as necessary.
  • Security & Safety: Must pass a driving record check and a driver’s validity license check prior to employment.
