Job Requirements
Transdev is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Licenses: Valid Australian driver’s license for at least 12 months; MR license or willingness to upgrade
- Checks: Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain), background checks, and Bus Driver Authority (we help with this too)
- Language: Strong verbal and written English communication
- Work Eligibility: Full Australian working rights
- Training: Availability to complete paid full-time training for 5 weeks (Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:40pm)
- Location: Must live within reasonable distance to our depots
Key Responsibilities
As a Bus Driver, your responsibilities will include:

Commuter Engagement | Greet passengers, provide assistance, and maintain a friendly atmosphere on board. |
Safety Checks | Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with NSW road and transport regulations. |
OPAL Validation | Manage ticketing and OPAL card validations in a courteous and accurate manner. |
Team Collaboration | Work with service delivery teams to ensure reliable, on-time public transport. |
Roster Commitment | Adhere to your agreed days and times to maintain smooth operations and avoid cancellations. |
Additional Qualifications
- Previous experience in a driving or public transport role is highly regarded.
- Strong focus on customer service and community support.
- Flexibility and reliability in adhering to set schedules.
- Willingness to work shift hours as part of a regular routine.
